Morse tapers refer to a a series of shanks that taper at the end so they can be mounted onto the spindle of a drill press or lathe. They can be quickly removed during an operation. The taper is approcimatly 5/8 inches per foot.
High Speed Steel (HSS) provides good wear resistance and can be used in general purpose applications on both ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Oxide coating prevents chip building, galling and welding on the workpiece. It is commonly used on low carbon metals, stainless steel and ferrous metals.
